Fire Restrictions:
Fires are prohibited in all areas above 10,000 feet, except for camp stoves.

Camping Restrictions:
Camping is allowed in all areas except those shown on the map.

Food Storage Require:ents:
Proper food storage is required in all areas along the John Muir Trail. In areas shown on the map, proper food storage means using approved bear canisters or panniers.

Stock Use Restrictions:
Stock is allowed except for in areas shown in brown on the map.

Other Restrictions:
Bighorn Sheep Zoological Areas require a special permit for entry. For more information visit or contact the local ranger station.
